Online Version
Tips
It is recommended to use the online version in Google Chrome as it is the most tested browser with RAMANMETRIX. Please also avoid using battery saving mode as it may hinder the performance of the browser.
Access
Currently, there are two online versions available: a cloud-based version (physically located in Frankfurt area) and the JupytherHub version (at Leibniz-IPHT servers).
Tips
By default, users can allocate a maximum of 16 GB RAM. If you need more, you can request it.
Cloud version
The cloud version of RAMANMETRIX can be found at ramanmetrix.eu.
Please refer to ramanmetrix.eu/new_request for access.
JHub version for Leibniz-IPHT users
All IPHT users can access RAMANMETRIX at the JupytherHub server jhub.leibniz-ipht.de.
To log in with the IPHT account, click Leibniz-IPHT Microsoft Account.
After logging-in, choose Ramanmetrix under Select program and select the desired amount of RAM/CPU.
Advantages
The graphical user interface of the online version is identical to the desktop version.
The online version does not require installation and is not dependent on the operating system. It can be used on any electronic device with a modern browser (preferably Google Chrome) and a stable internet connection.
Limitations of the online version
The online version requires stable internet connection.
Import via direct upload of large data files is problematic and therefore limited to 25 MB.
Tips
You can use Import -> Load from link to import data from a public share link.
If your data exceeds 25 MB or your internet connection is slow, upload your data to an upload server of your choice or to a cloud (OneDrive, Nextcloud) and create a public share link.
Integration with other software is very limited. The desktop version is required for using the backend APIs and the pyRamanmetrix tools.
